Business for Safer Charleston The goal for Business for Safer Charleston is to invite and include our area businesses to assist us in Charleston's improvements. In the first survey we learned that Charleston residents and businesses are not happy with many local problems. Begging at store entrance ways and exits, public drinking at buildings, and related safety problems were frequent topics. Businesses in the Charleston area may support a safer Charleston by placing a "We support a Safer Charleston, WV" sign at their place of business. We will even recognize those supportive businesses with listings here on this website. As with all residents we invite the business resident to support making Charleston, WV a safer and better place in which to live. By displaying our signs the business will tell their clients they support a safer city. The business will also be planting the thought seed of "safety" in the minds of those who see and discuss the message. The more residents of Charleston are focused on a safer Charleston we more quickly and completely we will see that change occur. Last but not least the businesses will be saying that they do not welcome those making Charleston an unsafe place, or those causing our city harm and decay. Businesses should, like all residents actively report crime, and seek to make their neighborhood as safe and friendly as possible. To register your business for the "Business for a Safer Charleston WV" program email Safer Charleston and include your Business name address, telephone and contact. The business name, address and telephone will be listed here on the website. Participating businesses may download and or print the sign from here at the website. If for some reason you cannot print the sign email us and we will send you the sign. Directory of participating businesses will link from this page and from a supporters link. |
