Neighborhood / Incident Survey

The purpose of this survey is to gather more specific information geared to address the problems. This survey is geared to report problems with regard to neighborhood safety and problems. Survey takers will be asked to provide specific information such as location of the problems with descriptions. The survey taker's email will remain confidential. Safer Charleston will only  share such information in any case if the information is required by law. We are looking for information to address specific problems in specific areas as determined by the survey itself. The first survey was anonymous, no email was required. The survey was also open to any information the taker wished to provide. This survey will require an email address for survey verification and in case we need more information to assist in resolution.

We will add surveys as we gather information to better identify problems and resolutions.

Please provide the following contact information:

In which part of Charleston do you live? Please tell us the closest larger intersection.

Please state one thing which you feel creates the largest threat/detriment to Charleston and why.

Tell us what you feel are the top three priorities needed to initiate change to make Charleston a safer place.

Is there anything which would prevent you from reporting a crime in your area?

How often do you see crime in your neighborhood?

Do you feel safe in your home? Why?

Are you a registered voter? Why or why not?

Do you have children under the age of 18 living at home? Do you feel your neighborhood is a safe environment for your children? Why?

Tell us one way you would improve Charleston if the decision were left up to you.
